Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME domain extension is the only one meant for personal web pages only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are known by. At first, just third-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to acquire john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already grabbed third-level domain names remained functional.

Through our company, you can purchase your dot NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to change the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer code from the current domain service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no special rules on who can book a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the idea behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
