A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a typo. The downside of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk emails, but this problem can be solved using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also vital to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward incoming messages to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud platform and you have a shared hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you create under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel includes quite a lot of features, but it’s extremely intuitive, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires only one single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have created will be listed in this section in alphabetical order and you will only have to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the particular address. Our system will warn you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose some other mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as simple and requires one more click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be enabled effortlessly in case you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created using the domains hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll find a small symbol handily located right next to each one of them. With only one mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with the option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and enable this option through the menu that will appear. If any of the requirements for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will inform you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
